Urban Design
At LVO’ we strongly believe that our urban environments are critical places of exchange: whether for social contact, economic transaction, or environmental interaction. As such, we strive to design places for communities: places that are livable, engaging, equitable, and responsive, and places that will be valued by current and future communities.
We also believe that good urban design is critical in tackling the challenges that our communities (local and global) are currently facing: challenges such as extreme population growth, unsustainable consumption practices, social inequality, environmental degradation, social health issues, and issues with housing affordability.
To address these challenges, and create meaningful and valued places, our urban design team employs innovative, sustainable, and integrated approaches to develop innovative, sustainable, and integrated outcomes that respond to the unique challenges and opportunity of context.
"We need to walk, just as birds need to fly. We need to be around other people. We need beauty. We need contact with nature. And most of all, we need not to be excluded. We need to feel some sort of equality." - Enrique Peñalosa, former Mayor of Bogota, respected for his groundbreaking urban design initiatives.
