LVO were involved in developing an Urban Design Framework for a large development area at Moranbah. Through a series of workshops with the client we developed a strategic framework which would guide the future development of the land in line with the expectations of the local Council and the Urban Land development Authority.

The Urban Design Framework aimed to optimize land use efficiency while also enhancing the functionality and amenity of the site. The intention being to create a strong and highly identifiable image and character for the development. This approach required a more “spatial” approach to the site that considers where land uses are located, how they are connected and how these connections can function as “places” that not only connect land uses but also establish an attractive an identifiable character for the entire site.
