Our experienced team of architects has worked on a broad spectrum of project areas over the years. Our briefs have covered a wide range of sectors from housing to retail projects, from educational and medical facilities to commercial and industrial developments. In particular, our team has built a strong reputation throughout Australia for excellence in design of retirement villages, aged care facilities and multi-unit residential developments. Whilst this area of expertise has formed the core of our business in the past, we have also embraced the concept of mixed use developments and are strong advocates of the diversity these developments bring. More recently we have been commissioned for a number of mining accommodation projects. This is becoming an increasingly important part of our portfolio.

Our Projects

Our landscape architecture team has worked on an extensive range of project areas. Our portfolio includes low maintenance, soft and hard landscapes around educational and retail facilities as well as high quality landscapes for residential developments, resorts and hotels. Our past projects also include a number of wetland regeneration projects with the key objective of storm water collection and reuse.

Our landscape architecture team is made up of a combination of generalists and specialists in the field. This balance allows us to evaluate each project thoroughly from environmental, engineering and landscape perspectives. In turn, this ensures we consistently deliver optimal solutions with minimal environmental impact.

Our Projects

LVO has been invited to work on a number of urban design projects. Our briefs have been varied and diverse. We have collaborated on several projects, each with its own designated outcomes and approach philosophy. We have been involved in EbD (Enquiry by Design) workshops, commissioned studies and competitions to cite but a few examples.

Amongst our most coveted achievements is our third place award in the Gold Coast Cultural Precinct Competition. This was a national competition run by Gold Coast City Council, with the endorsement of the Australian Institute of Architects. To gain such a high accolade in a national competition speaks volumes for the quality of our work.

The Urban Design team at LVO is highly experienced in its field. As well as harnessing the talent and experience of the LVO urban design team to deliver project goals, our team also utilises the skills across our multi-disciplinary organisation to full benefit.

To assess the visual impact of a given project and expedite the development approval process. 

Our Projects

LVO has built a reputation as a respected provider of visual assessment services in Queensland. Our project briefs have come from a variety of sectors ranging from recreation and tourism through to infrastructure projects and high and low density residential developments.

Using computer simulation techniques, LVO models the visual impact of a development proposal and uses the findings to formulate strategies to either confirm or reshape project outcomes. This has been a particularly effective tool when it comes to managing potential negative impacts. In addition, this area has proven invaluable in cases where development proposals have come under scrutiny from local residents and businesses.

With several years’ experience in both impact modeling and reporting, our team brings a valuable combination of knowledge and skill to the table.In particular, our team is experienced in Planning and Environment Court proceedings and has a high success rate in out of Court settlements.
