Nick McGowan
Nick has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Hons), a Business Diploma, a Masters of Design (Urban Design) and is currently undertaking his PhD at QUT. Nick also tutors design units at QUT.
Nick was awarded the 2010 Centre for Subtropical Design Travel Bursary (sponsored by mecu) and will use the bursary to research different urban agriculture models with a view to determining which models and methods of integration are most appropriate to a growing subtropical city such as Brisbane.
As Manager of our Visual Planning Assessment and Urban Design Department, Nick has extensive experience in providing assessment and design services to a range of clients (including private developers, Councils, and Government Departments), and for a range of projects (from rural activities to high rise mixed use developments).
Nick is principally involved with undertaking design and visual impact assessments for both development applications and Planning & Environment Court Appeals, on numberous projects in Queensland, and northern NSW, as well as a number of projects across Australia.
